About Me

Hello! My name is Steven Kautz. I am located in Western North Carolina and really enjoy the exploration of photography in this beautiful area. I started taking photos in 2005 as a way to capture the action of my first hobby, radio controlled cars.

After a fellow r/c enthusiast asked me to photograph his wedding, I began to have the confidence to broaden my photography horizons. Landscapes, Night Sky, Bands, Engagements, Weddings, Newborn, and Automotive are some of the genres I have enjoyed.

I like working with my hands and being in the outdoors. In addition to Photography, some of the things I’ve come to enjoy in the mountains of North Carolina include mtn biking, hiking, snow skiing, leathercraft, wood carving, and riding motorcycles.

I began working with leather in 2015 when I wanted a knife sheath. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I decided to learn how to make it myself. Thus began a passion to create with leather that has not ceased. I now make sheaths, holsters, wallets, purses, totes, cases, and accessories tailored to customer requests.

While I enjoy many hobbies, my desire to glorify God in all that I do, is above all else. My hope is that I can do that through my lens and the work of my hands.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my portfolio!

If there is anything I can help you capture or create, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
